Beginning of Cold War, tensions between America and Soviets.
Potsdam and the Yalta Conference showed these rising tensions between the two countries— split between capitalism and communism. After the split of Berlin; Russia believed that they could take West Berlin by creating the Blockade of Berlin; however the United States did not want to cross into West Berlin and forcefully invade as it is a sign of war, therefore, they use the Berlin Airlifts to go into Berlin and feed their population. After the horrid publication of what the U.S.S.R. did, they lift the blockade. Due to this; many people located in East Berlin went into West Berlin; leading to the Berlin Wall. Marking the start of the Cold War.
