‎ ‎ while i mostly write otso in a canon divergent timeline where things are happier and no one dies uh. null div still has a canon! and lemme tell you otso is WILD. i love him to death but damn
‎ ‎ otso's whole thing is that he lost his empathy and is now very manipulative. he presents as this stone wall with no emotion and just cares about his "grand plan." wink wink. he's very manipulative but not outwardly mean, not unless he needs to be. he's gentle with aysu, his daughter figure, as she is the only one who is there genuinely for there skill and not to play a part in his plan. he's mean and manipualtive with korol, his guard dog / weapon, but that's because korol needs him to be mean. he's standoffish with nalo, the most important piece of his plan, but has been manipulating him since day one. and matias! well matias is just there to keep everyone from bleeding out and to keep nalo in check
‎ ‎ in canon divergent timelines, otso ends up caring for null division more than he thought he would, and that leads him to oh no. oh God not emotions!!! in canon though i'm really trying to stick with him doing the bare basics and solely focused on himself. it's such a pain to write but it's Okay

‎ ‎ okay this is where it gets good. i love exploring his dynamics with the rest of null divison in a more domestic and calmer setting. he's much more caring here, even if he doesn't allow himself to actually FEEL care. his love language is food. yeah. he cooks for null div, is more attentive to their needs, open to more casual bonding activies. he feels like an actual captain. he still has an unhealthy dynamic with korol but it's more mutual this time. he's even more of a father figure to aysu
‎ ‎ and!! he has a love interest!! woah!!! angel, an oc belonging to my lovely friend theo. god i am so hooked on those two. will maybe make a seperate paste for those two. but it is so nice to write otso so conflicted and confused when he starts to feel something again. he genuinely thought he was incapable of feeling anything meaningful, then angel comes along and reminds him he is Not. they're toxic and codependent but also so lovely and i need to stone them
‎ ‎ so many thoughts about otso. holidays roll around and nalo insists they celebrate. otso cooks big elaborate meals for them. he prefers bland and simple food for himself but goes all out for null division. he yells at everyone who walks into the kitchen he's cooking (minus angel if he's there celebrating) but is so proud when they're all eating.
‎ ‎ he sparrs with them and corrects them and teaches them. and it is so. everyone in their modified gym teaching each other and bonding
‎ ‎ his surprise when null div cares for him back. when they buy him things he likes and he doesn't get why, doesn't understand they did that just because they care and appreciate him. he doesn't get the fuss about his birthday while he gets something nice for theirs. minus nalo, he lies about his birthday every year.
‎ ‎ otso plays guitar. god forbid null div finds out. nalo bugs him about it first, then korol and matias. when aysu finally requests a song, he caves and plays for them. it's a weird feeling seeing them all invested but he's oddly okay with it. (happy. he's happy and he will never admit it)

‎ ‎ watched game of thrones. saw a dragon. went, ah, yeah, that's otso right there. and now im INSANE
‎ ‎ big white dragon wielding lightning "magic." idk, typical dragons breath power yknow. dragon shifter who prefers to stay human or semi human. instead of a typical hoard, he has a town he defends with his life. generations have passed and he still protects them. he's so familial in this au. so protective and tender and it make sme SICK.
‎ ‎ angel also comes in here, lil vampire he falls heads over heels for and adds to his hoard. korol is a werewolf stray otso takes in and also falls heads over heels for, aysu is a shapeshifter and an ally to otso but not a resident. matias is a resident and nalo is matias' husband who otso is not fond of but somehow managed to set some rules and boundaries with. lord knows how
‎ ‎ the town is expanding so more and more people move in and otso like scouts them out. anyone who causes trouble meets otso eventually. usually human first, then as a dragon if they don't fix their shit. he's in town decently often in the spring and summer, scarcely in the fall, and stays in his lair in a nearby mountain in the winter. most of the time. whenever he is in town, they're so nice to him. offer him gifts and refuse to let him pay for anything
‎ ‎ once a year, otso comes to town in full dragon form and listens to his people update him. new stories, births, songs, art. who is up to what and generally how they're feeling. it's a whole festival and one of the few times the town closes it's doors to outsiders, just for the day and night
‎ ‎ he's so... i love him. i'm messing with the idea of his town eventually turning into a kingdom he's kinda forced to rule as king and he's so lost because yes he is an old, old dragon but he still doesn't get how the humans and co think. the kingdom does well under his rule though bc who would wanna go to war against a dragon.
‎ ‎ spoiler alert!! other dragons!! god the idea of otso in full dragon form beefing with another dragon. mmmhm mhm
