.CC/LABYRINTH is a paste where I document my thoughts about dungeonsynth and fantasy in general. But mostly the latter.
Ahhhhh... I actually don't care to make this all professional sounding, oops. My favorite fantasy umbrella subcategories are ummm fables, fairytales, sword & sorcery, this, this, and this although I like a lot of the others as well. Ahhh!!!!! I'm unsure of what to say next!!!!
I wanna say that this kind of fiction has been very present in my life. (It's like, one of the first things I read about for my own amusement.)
Everything about it just entranced my little baby brain... let it get immersed in their worlds... let it make magic of the mundane.
This is also what drew me to dungeonsynth, by the way. Love that it can bring lots of these same feelings whenever I listen to any song in that genre. (Haven't listened to much yet, but I've been liking Quest Master & FOGWEAVER so far. There's also this album by Louie Zong, that clued me in to the genre as a whole and I've listened to some Fief songs. Actually I should make a list here l8r)
I also want to say something else about the... something of this genre because it is very broad but I'm not sure if I have the words for it right now though.
For now I'll just say I love it when its medieval-esque and/or is mystical in nature. I ALSO LOVE ANYTHING RELATING TO MAGIC.
These are all important to my identity and to how I percieve myself as well, due to the everything mentioned in the paragraph above.
Ok I've gotten to the point where I can word what I wanted to say more. I like the D&D trope-esque stuff a lot a lot but I do recognize that having most of the ideas be centralized around that franchise specifically has its problems and makes me appreciate when something deviates from those even more.
Pssst. Here's the place I took the border from.
