i selfship both 09 riley and reboot ghost lol. i keep it vague which i'm extremely gay over when yapping unless a specific yap is related to only 09 or reboot ghost. for this section i will be talking about my self insert but most likely for the rest of the sections, i will be using i/me or switching back and forth. just know i mean the critter when i say i/me!!



the self insert i pair him with is called briar "snow" torres, often called blue by most people. he is a sergeant with a specialty in recon and most things related to engineering. talented fuck when it comes to her knives. uuhm. a lot if kept vague for her because what i feel like is different and i want to be able to "be" briar with ease. generally, he is a talkative guy that's awkward and fumbles about in most social situations. blunt more often than not and while friendly with most people, she's not above being a dick to defend herself. hates being a pushover and is very tense when it comes to doing too many favors for people. we love him for that. ok?? uhmm what else. fox pilled. she is so fox

joining the 141 was! certainly an adjustment!! captain price was about as welcoming as a captain can be with another damn sergeant to cause issues. soap and gaz were easy to start talking to... now... the lieutenant...... that was something. was scared for my life. the Horror Stories i've heard prior to meeting him...... i was actually tweaking the whole time. he didn't speak much besides what was needed, soap had to like, coax him to say words to me. it was an interesting first encounter


after that, he treated me kinda normally. well, as normal for him, but i was just glad to be getting orders and things to do. he did a lot, and a lot, and a lot of trainings with me. they were insane. soap gave me pointers while gaz fixed me up something edible enough after the most intense trainings


then came out first mission. that's when he gave me my first nickname. by that point, i got comfortable and was letting myself talk and talk and talk and talkkkkk. naturally, that came with banter i probably (absolutely) had no place having with him LMAO. we were getting ready when he called me copycat for the first time. i was confused, then he said it was the mask. my mask


fucker thinks just because i'm also a masked man means i'm copying him... his mask has that skull pattern on it and mine is just plain black with cat-ish stripe markings on the side. not even remotely close. but alas, he stuck to it and referred to be as copy, the copy, or copycat the whole mission. soap told me it was a good thing after


the mission went well. i got my shit rocked at some point and didn't notice til the way back when the adrenaline wore off and suddenly i was fucking dying. okay that's dramatic but. felt like it


ghost was very unimpressed and concerned at the same time. he hovered in medic even after he was cleared until i was too, something about slipping up and letting me get hurt. it wasn't even his fault i just am a bad luck magnet i fear


the first few months of getting to know him weren't as bad as i thought they were going to be. he was so complicated it was kind of simple? i learned quick what to avoid and not talk about, or what i could talk about but wouldn't get an answer, and what did get a few words out of him. he never shared anything about himself but it was nice to have someone actually listen to my nonsense. he was confusing, that's for sure. somedays he'd hover while i was with soap and make some sort of conversation and then i'd go a few days without seeing even a trace of him. i kinda liked it though. he always came back and it made me comfortable enough to just dip when i needed to


think he taught me how to be less of a pushover and dependent on people without meaning to. appreciate him sm for that for real. once i started doing it more, i understood him a little better, and it made our conversations feel more natural

he has. so many nicknames for me
blue -- my callsign pre tf141 that's sort of become my second name now. story is a secret for now but he uses it time to time and used it most at the start
copycat -- was convinced i was copying him because i'm also masked
copy -- shorter version, used the most
cat -- only used once, corrected him and said i am a fox. accidentally talked for too long about foxes after hence the following nicknames
foxfur -- happened when i overheated like hell and took off my helmet to let my hair loose and like. yknow when thinner stray parts of hair look "glowy" under light? that happened and he said it reminded him of a fox's fur so i was then dubbed foxfur
foxtail -- got a scrape on my tailbone back going up my spine that left a really nasty scab. also, foxes
snow -- the callsign tf141 uses for me the most. sigh. oh the snow incident. okay, i'm obsessed with snow and the cold. i love it. but one mission, don't know what was wrong with me, but i couldn't keep my balance in the deep parts of the snow. like, at all. kept falling over and over and over again. the breaking point was when ghost snapped at me for something unrelated and told me to stand up so he could lecture and scold me properly and i did stand! i just instantly face planted into the snow!!!
shrew -- when i get too cold, i curl up and make myself small and just lay there. i also eat 10x more. like a shrew. according to ghost
snowy -- started once i got very minor frostbite and an awful cold because i didn't want to get out the snow
archie -- arctic fox. arctic. arc. archie. soap said it as a joke and ghost seemed to like it. he's only ever called me it in private and it's usually after bad arguments or bad nights for either of us, really
