Yes ok middle school was somewhat apathetic bc mizuki was going thru it but. even then it’s like. they did find some comfort thru their shared solitude. and ppl act like rui is like. ummmmm idc abt mizuki #wondasho4life! Which. Guys. Rui gaf. So bad even. Rui gives a lot of fucks. But he isn’t like. Pushy about it either. He’s not like doting over mizuki every second. But he is always there for her when she needs him. LIKE. HE LITERALLY HELPED HER MOTIVATE HERSELF IN MIZU5 TOO. LETS USE OUR THINKIGN CAPS GUYS and one of the earliest mizurui moments is him noticing mizuki is feeling down so he makes her a machine to cheer her up. like. guys? One of the points of their friendship right now is to show how they’re healing from only being friends in solitude. they’re no longer stuck on that rooftop guys. they BOTH have made it out and have met their own groups, but that doesn’t negate the affection they have for each other. they’re no longer just friends in solitude. they’re friends who overcame their shared solitude. which I think is very important for both of them. they’re not the kids stuck on the rooftop shunned by everyone. GOD I HATE THEM I HOPE THEY EXPLODE. ahem. but like. idk they’re very dear to me bc of the fact that despite the fact they both were at lows in their life and that was their reason for bonding they moved past that and now bond over the fact that they’re both healing with groups of friends who won’t judge them for being who they are and will love them both unconditionally.
