hi there! i never know how to start these kinds of things honestly. i'm sure you're all very much aware of the attacks on pastry as of recent, the large fucking captcha being a good sign of this. this has taken an extreme toll on me, my mental health and my actual living situation, seeping into my real life slowly day by day. i was hosting pastry from a rundown office computer in my bedroom as of january, and let me just tell you! it isn't pretty! the setup nor the risks it comes with!


but i'm not gonna waste your time. you don't really care about me, and that's fine! as humans we all really only care about the things that affect us, i'm not here to throw a pity party for myself, more so to just tell you something. as of the 9th of march 2026, pastry is indefinitely closed, cancelled whatever you wanna call it its gone

what about our code??

working on an archive of 1.1! (aka the one you all have stuff and accounts on) cannot say when. i need time to recoup my personal life, take apart my setup and just get back into some sense of normalcy after the last few months. idk about 1.2

can other people make pastry

YES this is an important question im putting here even though nobody will care or ask you have my full permission the domain goes up for sale this summer, im not renewing it and if it does auto renew please contact me directly and i will give you a discounted price for the year. it has always been open source, it only takes a little brute forcing and a little knowledge to learn and i highly highly encourage that you do!!!!!

why so soon after 1.2?

i got ddossed repeatedly and a major part of 1.2 was that our hosting provider (shuttle) was closing its doors indefinitely, so i had to start hosting it from my own personal web server which is in my bedroom. i also just have different priorities and alot less time than when i began.

what now?

well i'm not your mom. i can't force you to do anything, but you should use fluffle (the site this is on) if you truly want another pastebin experience. however, don't! don't use pastebins. just go make a neocities at this point you know.
