THE WHAT
Pastezine is a project I thought of after seeing Vanitas' ideas for Tetzine. I was thinking about how, at least for me, pastebinning is deeply tied to tetratto (mainly due to Shrimpcamp, haha) and thought it'd be cool to have a project that focused solely on that. At its core, Pastezine is a love letter to the pastebin community and all the creative ways folks here have expressed themselves and made cool stuff!
It will feature several categories in order to spotlight different facets of the community, from resource pastes to out-of-the-box thinkers. While those featured will ultimately be decided by the creator of the zine (me! :D), I'm hoping to get at many opinions and suggestions as possible so that I can take into account what the community thinks. Speaking of the community...
THE WHO
I want your help making Pastezine truly a reflection of the community it's about! In the links section, you can find a form that will allow you to submit pastes, creators, etc that you think are exceptional. There are several categories, and all are optional, so there's no pressure to answer them all! There's the option to do either the JotForm version or the google form version; they are both the same, it's just up to your preference. I will check both!
THE WHEN
You may be asking, "Atri, that's cool and all, but when is all this happening?" And to that I say... uhm. Well. I'm not sure! But fear not! It should be completed around the time Tetzine is, give or take a few days (or at most a week or two). As a very soft deadline, I'm aiming to close submissions around April 16-20 (though of course it might be later!) because I know most folks including myself are gonna be pretty locked in playing the new Tomodachi Life game that drops on the 16th, and so I probably won't be focused on checking things. This is NOT definite, though!
THE OTHER WHAT
In a way, the name "Pastezine" is a tad misleading. Unlike Tetzine, which (to my knowledge) Vanitas intends to format as a pdf or otherwise in a way that would allow it to be printed as a true "zine", I've decided that Pastezine is (at the time of writing) going to likely be hosted as a series of pastes formatted to look like pages. This is both as a gimmick/theme, yes, but also because I want the project to be enjoyable for me to make; And while I do enjoy graphic design, I really don't know a lot about zinemaking or translating those designs well to real life. As such, in order to make sure I am motivated and willing to put as much passion as possible into the end result, it just makes the most sense for me to do it in a format I am more experienced in and consequently enjoy more.
